West Brom’s farm happy to have hay – Di Matteo

West Bromwich Albion manager Roberto Di Matteo has likened his side’s plight in the Premier League to farming.

The Italian says the long winter ahead will be a tough slog for his Baggies who currently sit sixth with 12 points from eight games.

"It is like when you are a farmer. You want to bring as much hay into your stall as possible for a long winter,” he said.

"That's what we are trying to do.

"It is going to be long harsh winter - it is freezing cold at the moment.

"We are happy we have some hay but we don't have no-where near enough after eight games."
