West Brom hero Brunt claiming Man Utd goal

Chris Brunt insists it's his goal for West Bromwich Albion after their 2-2 draw at Manchester United.

Brunt, who also set up Somen Tchoyi's 54th-minute equaliser, believes he bagged his second goal of the campaign to help Roberto Di Matteo's men pull off the rare feat of denying United all three points on their own patch after being two goals up.

"I'm definitely claiming it until I'm told it's not mine," he told the WBA website.

"To be fair, I didn't see what happened. I just struck it low and hard. It seemed to go in off Evra but I think if it's on target it's my goal - isn't that the rule?

"I just thought I'd smash it because it was so close to the box and there were lots of bodies in there.

"It paid off and we got lucky."

He added: "It's important to come to these places and play without fear - and we did that today.

"We did that at Anfield and the Emirates as well and I think we've learnt our lesson from Chelsea on the opening day.

"Going two goals down at Old Trafford, the floodgates could open. But credit to the lads - we dug in and in the end got a deserved point and maybe at the end could have won it."
