West Brom boss Di Matteo dismisses big club rumours
West Bromwich Albion boss Roberto di Matteo has dismissed talk of interest from bigger clubs.
As far as he is concerned, Albion’s survival and consolidation is the only aim for this season.
And of more interest to him is keeping the Baggies boardroom sweet.
“I don’t read newspapers and I only listen to the radio in the morning,” said Di Matteo, when asked about speculation linking him with other jobs.
“It doesn’t affect me at all.
“I have a job, my job is to win games and I do my best to do that. Nothing has changed for me. I can achieve my ambitions by doing a great job.
“That’s why I work very hard to prepare my team to the best of my ability.
“I’m not fussed by the speculation. I’m quite boring in that way. Winning games keeps the chairman off my back – that’s the only thing I’m interested in.”
