West Brom’s Morrison aiming to come-back from injury in top form

James Morrison is determined to prove he can become an even bigger force for West Bromwich Albion than he was before his injury, reports the Birmingham Mail.

The Baggies midfielder missed the best part of 12 months after suffering a degenerative skin injury around his heel in April 2009.

The Scotland international is now back up to speed but under no doubts that the injury stalled his career.

“I’ve got a point to prove again,” said Morrison.

“I got to a stage where I’d proven to people what I could do but this injury made me feel like I’d gone to square one.

“It was like trying to climb a ladder and then slipping down. I want to get back to where I was, if not be even better.

“Hopefully now I can get back and get more press, get some confidence and have a good pre-season.

“When I came back I was wondering whether I’d be the same player again.

“I was struggling to get past people and it was frustrating so that’s why I needed this pre-season.

“Before I wasn’t keen on the gym but now I’m in there all the time. If you see our gym it’s full of people who had injuries.”
