Werder Bremen snap up free agent Silvestre
The Frenchman, who has spent most of his career with Manchester United, was released by the Gunners at the end of last season and has now signed a two-year deal with the Bundesliga outfit.
Silvestre admitted the lure of playing under Bremen boss Thomas Schaaf was a strong reason for him joining the club.
“This is a great new adventure for me," Silvestre told www.kicker.de.
"There were other offers, but (coach) Thomas Schaaf and (general manager) Klaus Allofs fascinated me.
"I want to be one of the leading players in the team and to help guide the younger players.”
