Werder Bremen midfielder Torsten Frings is being heavily linked with a move to the MLS and New York Red Bulls.
The 33-year old former Germany international is out of contract in June and is believed to be considering the next chapter of his playing career.
Frings told German newspaper Welt that New York was certainly a place he would look at moving to.
“The American League definitely appeals to me,” Frings said. “I’m a big fan of the United States, and in particular the City of New York.”
Frings has had an extensive career in his homeland, spending all of his playing days in the Bundesliga with Bremen, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich after kicking off his career with lower league club Alemannia Aachen.
