Wenger: Arsenal players still adjusting to Van Persie absence

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes their back-to-back defeats is partly due to the adjustment required to losing striker Robin van Persie.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes their back-to-back defeats is partly due to the adjustment required to losing striker Robin van Persie.

The Gunners have lost three of their four games since losing the Dutchman to injury and Wenger says that is partly because it sometimes takes time to adapt to losing a key member of the squad.

"There is always a little period of re-adaptation when such an important player is missing," he told arsenal.com. "A team needs to find a new balance.

"During this period sometimes you pay for it, but we have no choice.

"I believe we have enough quality to live with that, and we have a good opportunity to show that in the coming games."
