Weir: I knew Man Utd ace Rooney special after first day at Everton training

Rangers defender David Weir knew Manchester United star Wayne Rooney was destined for greatness when they first crossed paths at Everton.
Rooney joined Weir at Everton first team training as a 15 year-old.
He recalled to the Scottish Sun: "Wayne has always had the magic ever since he first walked into Goodison Park.
"The first day he came to training with the first team at Everton, he was 15. He felt he was the best player there.
"It was not big-headedness because that's not Wayne. It was an inner confidence.
"He felt it was his time and he quickly showed that at Everton. There was an aura about him, even then. He was basically shy then, but I have seen him dealing with the media for England and United and there is a big difference.
"He's matured because he's become a dad in the last year.
"I don't know Wayne that well, I'm really just on the outside, looking in - but it seems like everything is coming together for him."
