Warnock: Villa boss O'Neill told new lads what to expect from derby
Stephen Warnock is delighted with his winning start at Aston Villa .
The former Blackburn fullback told AVTV: "Obviously with myself, Dunny and James coming into the team it was imperative that we got a clean sheet.
"Thankfully we got that. The atmosphere was hostile and thankfully Gabby came up with the goods. Obviously when you go a goal up you know it is going to be backs to the wall for the next 10 minutes, especially in a derby.
"But thankfully I think Dunny and James headed every ball that came into the box and they were quite comfortable with that.
"We spoke about it last night - the manager had meeting with the three of us and just told us what he expected and things like that. It is very pleasing. Coming away and winning away from home sets us up nicely for our next game at home."
