Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy is being urged to suspend his plans to retire from international football.
The Daily Mail says Bellamy has been asked to captain Wales against Scotland - despite the striker admitting he is ready to call time on friendly appearances.
The Manchester City striker hinted he would consider sitting out non-competitive Wales internationals as he tries to manage his long-term knee problem.
But the 30-year-old has been named by manager John Toshack for the first international at the Cardiff City Stadium next Saturday.
