Villa fullback Warnock calm about England call
Aston Villa left-back Stephen Warnock is calm about his chances of an England call-up.
Warnock admits Wayne Bridge's decision to rule himself out for England may have paved the way for his own selection to Fabio Capello's squad.
Manchester City defender Bridge released a short statement this morning claiming his presence within the national side was potentially 'divisive' and that he did not wish to be selected.
"I don't know about that (selection for the Egypt game)," he said. "That will be the manager's decision.
"He picks who he thinks is right for the job. All I can do is concentrate on my form with Villa and try and impress him. I thought I was pushing hard anyway but with what has happened maybe it has opened a door.
"Ideally it would be great to win the Carling Cup and get called up for the Egypt game but let's wait and see."
