Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill says Emile Heskey has underachieved in front of goal.

O'Neill was delighted for Heskey after his strike in the 1-1 draw at Burnley on the weekend.

And he told Villa's website: "My viewpoint is this year I think he can score more goals and I've said this to him before.

"The way to score goals is get in like he got in there on Saturday and there's goals there if you want to go bravely for it. He got in very bravely on Saturday.

"I will not turn around and promise that by March or April time he will add another 12 Premier League goals to his tally.

"But I'm saying he is capable of scoring more goals than his reputation has given him in the last seven or eight years and not just at the time he's been with me."
