Villa boss O’Neill: Agbonlahor can get 20 league goals

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill believes Gabby Agbonlahor can break the 20-goal barrier this season.

Agbonlahor is back in his scoring groove for Villa's clash with Tottenham.

O'Neill said: "I think Gabby is pleased with his goal haul and I think he's capable of getting 20 league goals.

"He's totally different to Jermain Defoe, even though they've got the same aim - trying to score goals. Gabby has other aspects to his game. He's very strong now on holding up play, bringing other people into it.

"I also think that the second goal Gabby scored at Fulham was an extraordinarily good goal. And I think he can score more."

England have a friendly against Egypt next month and Agbonlahor will be one of the Villa players vying for a starting spot.

O'Neill added: "I'm sure there are a number of players Fabio Capello has already earmarked for South Africa but there must be at least four positions in the squad where you think form could dictate what would happen."
