Blackpool striker Luke Varney believes victory over West Bromwich Albion could be a watershed in their season.

The striker, who scored the second goal in a 2-1 win against West Brom, was delighted to finally leave the field at the full-time whistle with a victory.

"It was quite nervy at the end but it's 13 points for us and that's a great total for the amount of games that we've played," Varney told the club's website.

"The gaffer actually said that he'd prefer them to have 11 because we were playing really well at the start of the game. We're just delighted though because it's a good three points.

"We've got a ***** off our backs. Our performances haven't been bad at all, we've been really competitive at home but the points haven't shown for it. We're delighted to get the win.

"Now we've got that win we'll have great confidence going into the game against Everton. We've got a full squad and we're all ready to go again."
