Two bidders circle for Sheffield Wednesday

There are two bidders battling for control of Sheffield Wednesday.

The News of the World says Hillsborough insiders are confident an embarrassing chapter will shortly culminate in a £10million buy-out.

Among those expressing interest are millionaire fan Spencer Fearn and ex-West Ham chairman Eggert Magnusson.

But board sources insist the real deal is being conducted in private with unnamed parties.

The Owls are negotiating a deal that will see Howard Wilkinson remain as chairman.
