Tottenham striker Defoe raps: Are you watching, Sven?

Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe admits he was crushed by criticism from former England boss Sven Goran Eriksson three years ago.

"Where are all the other English strikers who can score at this level?" Eriksson demanded at the time. "Defoe? I don't think so... and I have seen him 15 or 20 times this season."

With four goals in England's last two matches - coming off the bench on both occasions - and nine in his last seven international appearances, Defoe can afford to smile as he declares: "I hope he's been watching our games this season."

It was a disgrace and a big mistake that he did not go to the world cup 3 years ago.
