Tottenham lower expectations for next season

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has conceded that Spurs cannot compete with the strength of the Barclays Premier League's Big Four or Manchester City's spending power.

Redknapp admitted: "City are working on another level with the wages they can offer. We liked Barry and Santa Cruz but when it came to it we just weren't at the races."

He said: "If we can't get players who will improve the team we're not going to bother.

"We already have a decent squad, many of whom are going to improve. We recognise we have to improve the away results next season and f we can do that we can push to finish in the top six.

"That has to be our aim and I believe we can achieve it."

I hope you are right mate....

harry wudnt of had to say anythin like this to have me concerned.due to our appalling lack of activity in the transfer window i can hardly say i have a great feelin about next season.when last season finished i was revved up for this yrs to come, but now.....haha there wont be many SPURS TO FINISH HIGHER THAN ARSENAL,MAKE 4TH SPOT or any other tales like that.not from me any or any1 with any sense i feel!

they may be one of the richest clubs in england, but if they're competing against the richest club in the world to sign a player they're interested in (i.e. cruz, barry) then how much they have becomes pretty irrelevant.
