Tottenham boss Redknapp: I won’t do a Sir Alex!

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp won't be going down Sir Alex Ferguson's path in criticising referees.

Spurs go to Manchester United for their Carling Cup quarterfinal.

Redknapp joked: “I’m not going to say anything to a referee. Christmas is coming and I can’t afford a fine. I’ve got too many grandkids!

“You make those kind of remarks and you expect it now. You’re going to get a ban if you say anything out of order.

“Alex didn’t appeal so he must have thought it was fair. I don’t think it will affect United anyway.

“It didn’t seem to affect them when they won 4-1 at Pompey! It won’t make the slightest bit of difference.

“Once they’re out there on the pitch, you can scream and shout all you want but it doesn’t make any difference.

“You’re probably better off in the stands at Old Trafford anyway. You get a better view.”
