But 'Arry said: "My achievement is no more than Alex would have wanted to do when managing in Scotland or when Jose Mourinho was an interpreter for Bobby Robson. Things happen in your life.

"People do get reputations as being clever tactically and it's a load of rubbish.

"But when Bale gets the ball and goes - that ain't me telling Gareth 'Push it round one side and run the other, run 60 yards, cross the ball to Crouch or Pav to put in the goal'. That's him doing that."

Mind you, talking of Mourinho, according to Redknapp the 'Special One' is no Ian Holloway.

He added: "Mourinho is great. But put him in at Blackpool and do you think he could have had 13 points now? I wouldn't bet on it.

"I don't care who wins the championship and the cups. Ian should be manager of the year if he keeps them in the league."
