Tottenham boss Redknapp blasts England friendly timing
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has lashed FA bosses for staging a meaningless England friendly against Hungary just THREE DAYS before the big Premier League kick-off.
Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Aaron Lennon, Tom Huddlestone and Michael Dawson are all in the running to play for Fabio Capello at Wembley.
And Redknapp rapped: "Can someone tell me why you have an international the week before the season starts?
"It's a meaningless friendly at a time when we should be training, working and getting organised for our first game.
"The players will go off and come back on Friday morning. There will be two or three left at the training ground for the whole week before we play City.
"Then you've got to keep your fingers crossed no one comes back injured."
