Tottenham’s van der Vaart excited about Inter Milan clash

Tottenham recruit Rafael van der Vaart admits he is extremely excited about the upcoming Champions League clash with Inter Milan despite the fact he won’t be playing.

The Dutchman is suspended for the October 20 meeting after he was sent off in Wednesday’s 4-1 win over FC Twente but is looking forward to the lead-up banter with Holland teammate Wesley Sneijder who is one of Inter’s stars.

“Wesley is a good friend of mine. We talk a lot and I was looking forward to playing against him,” he said.

“I am going to miss playing – but I might be sending Wesley some texts before the game.

“We must be careful. He is in great form.”
