Toronto FC hire Klinsmann to help with GM search
Toronto FC have employed the assistance of Jurgen Klinsmann’s US-based company to help them find a new general manager.
The Canadian club sacked former GM Mo Johnston in September and are now on the hunt for a replacement as they strive to change the club around ahead of the 2011 MLS season.
Tom Anselmi, chief operating officer with TFC-owner Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, said in a news release: “We’re honoured to work with a football icon like Jurgen and to have access to his wealth of experience and expertise to evaluate our current operations and support our team’s development.”
Klinsmann, the former Germany striker, runs Soccer Solutions and will work with TFC interim general manager Earl Cochrane and assistant GM Jim Brennan, to “objectively look at everything from players to people to processes and conduct a comprehensive search for new leadership.”
