Tamas insists West Brom can handle Premiership opposition
Tamas has signed permanently from Auxerre this summer.
He told the Express & Star: “For me the Championship was harder in a physical sense than the Premier League will be.
“Being on the field in the Championship is like being in a battle. In the Premier League you face players with lots of quality and I’ve seen a lot of Premier League games on TV.
“But the Championship is also a very hard league and that goes for second divisions in most countries. When you have players of quality, you pass the ball a lot and keep possession for long spells. But when you face a team of workers, who run constantly for 90 minutes, it’s difficult to play against them.
“Look at the World Cup. Some countries with great players went home early. Other countries that were teams in the true sense of the word may not have had great players but they progressed.
“Football these days is all about being a team. It’s not just a case of having a great player like, say, Diego Maradona or Gheorghe Hagi.
“It would be great to have a player who can win games all by himself, but where is that player? I don’t see him!”
