Sydney on verge of signing Shanghai Shenhua’s Sun Xiang
Sydney FC are reportedly very close to completing a deal for Shanghai Shenhua’s Sun Xiang.
The China international has previously been linked to the Sky Blues as they have a relationship with Shanghai but now a potential deal is getting close according to reports.
However, Sydney vice-chairman Scott Barlow was non-committal despite news the talks are at an advanced stage.
''Sun Xiang is an option for us but we are not on the verge of signing him,'' he said. ''We only have two visa spots left and our priority is to sign a striker and a No.10.''
If Sun joins Sydney, it will leave them with just one visa spot left to sign a foreign player meaning they may keep it open for North Queensland Fury striker Robbie Fowler who is being heavily linked with the A-League champions.
