On Saturday afternoon the next chapter in one of the fiercest rivalries in the Hyundai A-League will be written when Sydney FC travels to Gosford to tackle the Central Coast Mariners for the first time in season 2009/10.

Clashes between the two clubs are traditionally close and high scoring and the Sky Blues enjoy the edge over their northern neighbours, having not lost a game to the Mariners in almost 2 years.

The match promises to be another blockbuster with both sides undefeated heading into the round-3 contest - Sydney FC accounting for North Queensland and Adelaide in its first 2 games and the Mariners boasting a win and a draw against Melbourne and Newcastle respectively.

Tomorrow (Friday) the Sky Blues will finalise their preparations, with Coach Vitezslav Lavicka to put his players through their paces one last time before the team makes the short journey up the F3 to Gosford.
