Sydney FC coach Lavicka adapting to ‘long’ pre-season
New Sydney FC coach Vitezslav Lavicka says he is still adapting to football in Australia, especially the length of pre-season.
The Czech tactician has tried to ensure that fitness training has been done whilst using balls as in Europe and has introduced technology to track the progress of all players.
"It is much shorter in Europe," he said of pre-season training.
"This is very different for me.
"But it does give me a chance to get to know the players better and make them my philosophy.
"I like it because we need to develop fitness but I prefer to do it with the ball," he added.
"Not only with the ball but more with the ball.
"We have heart raters which is very good feedback for the players, for me and the co-coaches. Every player has this at training sessions.
"After training we analyse the training session and fitness. It is very important. I have very good experience (12 years) with this."
