Sydney FC’s Foxe targeting defensive approach to North Queensland Fury

Sydney FC defender Hayden Foxe believes a defensive approach will get the points against North Queensland Fury this Saturday.

The Sky Blues are coming off a 3-3 draw with Melbourne Victory in round 1 of the new A-League season whilst the Fury had the same result against the Perth Glory and Foxe knows that keeping their forwards quiet will go a long way to getting his side a positive result.

“Hopefully we've rectified what went wrong (against Melbourne). We've put it behind us now," Foxe told The Australian. "As a defender you pride yourself on keeping it to zero. For a defender to do that, it's like a striker scoring a goal."

Foxe was also not taking the match against the Fury lightly after seeing their performance against his former club.

"I watched their game against Perth Glory (3-3) and they worked hard to get the equaliser,” he added. “In the off-season everyone had written them off. They had their problems off the field and you had to feel for the players. But they have got things together and you could see there was unity in the team.”
