The winner of today’s Sydney FC v Central Coast Mariners clash will jump to the top of the A-League table.

With the Sky Blues currently sitting on 13 points, a win would see them become outright leaders, ahead of Melbourne Victory, and skipper Steve Corica is aware just how important today’s clash is, especially seeing it is the club’s 100th A-League match.

"(Knowing) how tight the league is at the moment, it's definitely a must-win," he said.

"We're at home. We need to pick up three points and obviously there's a lot of teams around us, so we need to start winning from now on.”

Corica added that the rivalry between Sydney and the Mariners was a strong one.

"We played them in the grand final in the first year and pretty much from then on we've had a great rivalry with them," he added.

"So it's nice to be playing them in the 100th game."

If the Mariners win today, they can also take top spot on goal difference, whilst a draw would see both sides remain in the same positions they currently hold.
