Sunderland make one-year contract offer to Arsenal veteran Campbell
Sunderland have offered Arsenal veteran Sol Campbell a one-year deal.
The Daily Express says Campbell is mulling over a 12-month contract from Sunderland.
It’s understood the Black Cats have offered the 35-year-old an appearance-based deal that could earn him as much as £30,000-a-week if he plays.
Celtic have offered him a two-year contract believed to be worth almost £25,000-a-week.
Campbell is also expected to speak to Arsenal about a possible one-year arrangement after finishing last season there, but boss Arsene Wenger has just bought Laurent Koscielny from French side Lorient.
Campbell will make his mind up before his wedding next Saturday and that means the Hoops’ bid for his services is reaching crunch time.
