Sunderland defender Mensah backing Turner for England

Sunderland's Ghana captain John Mensah says Michael Turner is England class.

On-loan Lyon defender Mensah knows what life at international level is like and he's convinced Turner can follow the same path for England.

"I like playing alongside Michael, he is a very good player," Mensah told safc.com.

"He is very good in the air, strong tackling on the ground, everything. I believe he needs more confidence because he can be a great player.

"Michael can play for the national team. He's physically very strong and has very good attributes."
