Sunderland captain Cana sees Europe chance through Carling Cup

Sunderland captain Lorik Cana wants the club to take their Carling Cup tie with Aston Villa seriously.

Cana wants to lead Sunderland into Europe next season and sees the Cup as a chance to get there.

Cana said: "The cup is a short way to European competition. But it is going to be a tough game, because Villa are a very good team."
