Sunderland boss Bruce insists Campbell good wing option

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce insists striker Fraizer Campbell is a natural as a winger.

Bruce says he's convinced the England U21 international - his first summer signing as Stadium of Light boss - has what it takes.

"Fraizer's played there many, many times," Bruce told safc.com. "In fact, I thought he played his best game for us against Villa in the cup, where he was terrific against [Stephen] Warnock.

"I saw him last year playing for Spurs against Liverpool in a wide right area, and he played very well.

"Fraizer isn't bothered at all [where he plays]. He gives me legs, extra freshness and something different to what Steed Malbranque can bring to the table."
