Sunderland boss Bruce disappointed for injury-hit Meyler

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce was sorry to see David Meyler suffer an ankle injury last week.

He told safc.com: "The young boy Meyler has been impressing myself and the coaches but he's hurt his ankle.

"He has had to go home and get x-rayed and scanned - we will make sure he's well looked after and take the appropriate measures.

"It looks as if he's going to be out for 10-12 weeks."
