Sunderland’s Campbell set to miss season

Sunderland striker Fraizer Campbell is set to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.

The 22-year old sustained a knee injury during Saturday’s1-0 in over Manchester City which has since been revealed as ruptured cruciate ligaments.

Initially, the Black Cats thought it was simply a twisted knee that would see Campbell miss a few weeks but scans showed it was much more and now he will be sidelined for a number of months in a devastating blow for the club.

In better news, Sunderland have secured the signing of Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan from French club Rennes.
