Stoke City have confirmed their interest in Monaco striker Eidur Gudjohnsen.
The Potters want to bring in the Iceland international and former Chelsea and Barcelona star on a season-long loan.
"We have enquired about him," Stoke chairman Peter Coates told The Sentinel.
"We have talked about getting him on a 12-month loan because we think he could be a good player for 12 months, and maybe after that."
The 31-year old spent most of last season on loan with Tottenham and has been linked with another move away from Monaco for some weeks now.
