Stoke make formal complaint against Arsenal boss Wenger
Stoke City boss Tony Pulis is unhappy with Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wenger's continued criticism of captain Ryan Shawcross.
He revealed Stoke have written an official letter of complaint to the Gunners and also sent copies to the Premier League and the Football Association.
The row surrounds Wenger's comments earlier this week accusing the Stoke centre-back of turning football into rugby.
Pulis said: "The club is desperately disappointed with the comments which Wenger has come out with, especially the comments about Shawcross. We think they are out of order and you don't expect it from a person of Wenger's esteem.
"The club will deal with it in the right and proper manner."
The referee in the Tottenham match, Chris Foy, was the same referee who officiated in Arsenal's match against Blackburn.
When the issue was put to Pulis he said: "To say he was doing it as a sidetrack to influence the referee, you've said it. I've just agreed with you."
Pulis continued: "He's entitled to his opinion. We've fought two world wars to be a free country. We've all got different opinions and we must let people say what they say. Whether you agree with it or disagree with it, that's a different matter.
"What he said about Ryan was very, very poor and the football club will take that matter up."

shawcross what a thug, supported by thugs
check it out. most teams in england play d long ball which can not take u any where wen u go international. check out spain the ball is play more often on the ground nd dats y dey flourish in fifa nd europe, check out brazil, argentin, germany, dey al play the dribble, pass, cross nd nod football. nd nt teams dat come wit tackles just becos u outplay dem, pull u nd al dey do is send d ball in d air. it better dey go to space nd launch dere football campaign.
@ AnonymousAr 8.00 shawcross was crying when he left the pitch after that tackle. He was so upset his managers and collegues tried to console him weeks after that incident. I know what happened to ramsey is very very sad and ramsey must have been inconsolable after that(it was an accident like it or not), but to claim that shawcross is not remorseful is nonsense. Were you in his house or something after that incident? Please ,fool, check your facts before you put the word 'fact' in your comments.Your statement is obviously an emotional one...
I'll be the first to admit that shawcross' play is far from being the most attractive to watch but he is a very young player who has been linked with clubs like liverpool, man utd, tottenham,(i am not sure if arsenal is in this list gotta check that), and has even been named in england's squad a few times and is very likely to make his international debut in the future. And he has chosen to stay with stoke and captain the team. This guy does not have only bad qualities. The only reason he left man utd was becuz he had two players in front of him in the reserves=Gerard Pique and Johny Evans.
Wenger should stop cursing(like many of you) others,he has a very good team at his disposal and has his chances in the epl. Im sure ramsey will be back even a better player after this sad episode of his life
