Stoke City are hoping they can lure Eidur Gudjohnsen from Monaco.
The Iceland international spent most of last season in the Premier League, on loan with Tottenham, and it looked certain at some stage he was going to return to England and join Spurs permanently.
However, that move failed to eventuate but there is still interest for the former Chelsea man with Potters boss Tony Pulis believed to be ready to offer Gudjohnsen a deal before the transfer window closes on Tuesday evening.
