Stoke can buy Pennant permanently if loan spell is successful
Stoke City have the option to buy Real Zaragoza winger Jermaine Pennant permanently if he impresses during his loan spell.
The 27-year old former Arsenal starlet is at Stoke on a four-month spell and can be purchased for £2million if the Potters feel they want to retain him once the loan ends.
Stoke chairman Peter Coates hopes that the move for the ex-Liverpool winger can work out as he feels he is a very exciting player.
“That is very much an option for us,” he said. “Jermaine’s got real pace and real ability so we are now hoping it goes well for him and for us.
“I certainly think we have exciting players up front. The most exciting we’ve ever seen, I would say.”
