Stoke boss Pulis warns Etherington about West Ham clash

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has warned Matthew Etherington about clashing with his former club this weekend.

The Potters take on West Ham for the first time since the midfielder landed at Britannia Stadium and Pulis wants to keep things in perspective.

“It is always a big game when you play against a side you have just left,” Pulis said.

“Matty will have his reasons to do well but he also has to play for us and the structure we work on.”

No this was very not tongue in cheek, this is what its like in the prem, he sold Bellend and didnt replace him, a club will always get injuries and dont make excuses for him as he has to be able to put out a decent team every week regardless. And its stoke for ***** sake if a kid is good enough he is old enough, this is why i am critical, have we got to get used to his cheeky smile and excuses all next year, " i am very appy wiz there performance de teem try very ard, is not easy wiz all injuries" I like the way he plays football dont get me wrong, but that can lead all west ham fans into liking the man before the tactics.

" Zola, if he cant go to clubs like Stoke and win then he's not up to the job"

A little harsh on Zola. With the players at his disposal and improvements made so far in terms of style and tactics... I hope this is tongue in cheek ;-)

I read that Etherington was worried he might get booed by west ham fans. There is no way he will get anything less than a rousing reception from all hammers supporters, he was a good servant for us. ps, this is a must win game for Zola, if he cant go to clubs like Stoke and win then he's not up to the job.
