Sseppuya set to break goal drought for North Queensland Fury

North Queensland Fury striker Eugene Sseppuya is hoping he can break his four-match goal drought tonight.

The Ugandan is back in the Fury squad for the midweek clash with Sydney FC after a visa issue forced him out of the trip to Wellington and is determined to stop the longest barren run in his career.

"It's the longest I've gone in back-to-back games without a goal in my entire career," Sseppuya told the Townsville Bulletin.

"Sometimes I have got upset because I expect better things from myself. But when the boys, the coaches, are behind you it make you really want to give something back.

"When I get a goal, then confidence and more goals will come.”

Sseppuya said the Fury, who had scored just one goal in their last three matches, were very close to finding the back of the net with regularity.

“We have been creating chances, we only need to get the job finished," Sseppuya added.

"Some team is going to get punished when we do. This team is full of weapons, it’s not just about me or Chris Payne being there."
