Tottenham and Portsmouth are being linked with Tours FC striker Olivier Giroud.
The Daily Record says Celtic boss Tony Mowbray, right-hand man Mark Venus and chief scout John Park all jetted out to run the rule over free-scoring £3million-rated Tours hitman Olivier Giroud in a Ligue 2 clash with Angers.
But the Glasgow delegation were joined in the stand by Gordon Strachan's top talent spotter at Middlesbrough, Gordon McQueen, who has pinpointed the 23-year-old as the man who might fire new life into the Teesside club's bid for promotion back to the Premiership.
Representatives from Spurs and Portsmouth were also believed to be in attendance along with agent Willie McKay who is set to broker any deal to bring Giroud to British football.
