Spurs ace Kranjcar delighted to be back in Champions League
Tottenham midfielder Niko Kranjcar is delighted to be returning to the Champions League this season.
The Croatian international reached the Champions League qualifying rounds a number of times with former club Dinamo Zagreb without ever making that final leap into the competition proper.
Now he's stepping into the group stages with the club for the first time and matches against reigning champions Inter Milan, Werder Bremen and FC Twente.
"I said from the first day I arrived here that Tottenham is a club geared up to play Champions League football," the 26-year-old told the Tottenham matchday programme.
"The squad we have here is unbelievable, we have very, very good players and it really is set up for us to prove ourselves now.
"We should be competing at this level and should now try to push on and become a regular side in the Champions League.
"We are not going into the group stages just to participate. Our goal is to progress from the group and we believe we have the quality to do that. No-one will enjoy playing against us.
"It's my first time at this stage as well, it's a great feeling and I can't wait to be involved in the big games coming up.
"The whole club is excited, there is a huge history at Spurs and this is another step along the way. It's a massive achievement, certainly one we must enjoy."
