Spartak Moscow offer Jiranek to Birmingham

Spartak Moscow captain Martin Jiranek has been offered to Birmingham City.

Spartak Moscow captain Martin Jiranek has been offered to Birmingham City.

The Daily Mail says the 31-year-old defender - who usually plays centrally but has filled in at left back - can leave Spartak for a nominal fee after indicating he won't sign an extension to his contract, which expires in December.

AEK Athens and Real Zaragoza have made him an offer, but the Czech international hopes to agree terms with Birmingham as England is his preferred destination.

The 6ft 3in Jiranek has been at Spartak for six years since a £4.7million move from Italian side Reggina.
