Southampton sack manager Pardew
Southampton have sacked manager Alan Pardew.
Saints have sacked manager Pardew and his assistants despite them leading the club to a 4-0 win at Bristol Rovers on Saturday.
The npower League One favourites had started the season with a defeat and draw, but showed improvement at the weekend in their promotion bid.
However, the club have acted just three games into the season, releasing a verbose statement on their website which failed to reveal Pardew's fate until informing fans about 'a review of current status' as well as 'integrated and co-operative units'.
Dean Wilkins has taken on the caretaker role for the first team and he will be assisted by Martin Hunter, the Under 21 coach.
