Solorzano ready to carry Brisbane Roar’s goalscoring burden

Jean Carlos Solorzano says he is ready to carry the weight of expectations placed on him.

The 22-year old Costa Rican is yet to play one A-League minute but is being touted as the Roar’s top goalscorer this season and funnily enough, he feels no extra pressure.

"I'm used to that (expectation)," Solorzano told the Courier-Mail through an interpreter. "I come from one of the biggest clubs in Costa Rica where if you don't score for two or three games they ask a lot of questions. In my position that's what's expected.”

But with the expectation, Solorzano admitted he was loving the anonymity he gets in Brisbane as opposed to the attention in his homeland.

"I can live a very simple life. I'm not judged," he added. "I like the feeling of being unknown.

"Rival supporters at home sometimes abuse you across the street. Here they might think that but not say it.

"I don't mind being well known but I hope I don't get any bad comments."
