Smeltz proud to be a Genclerbirligi player

Genclerbirligi new boy Shane Smeltz says he is ‘proud and honoured’ to become a part of the club.

The New Zealand international joined the Turkish club from A-League outfit Gold Coast United this week and he cannot wait for his first piece of action in his new home.

"I'm very proud and honoured to be at this club," he told reporters in Turkey. "It's a fantastic club with a fantastic set-up and I can't wait to get started with the team.

“I'm really happy to be here and I want to help this team produce the best football they can, and I think this club deserves to be doing well in this league."
