Sampdoria chief Beppe Marotta has come out in support of firebrand Antonio Cassano.

After their draw with his former club Bari, Cassano sparked outrage when declaring: “Maybe somebody has become a little too accustomed to eating Nutella and instead has to eat a little ****.”

Protecting his player, who was booed by Samp fans, Marotta concluded by saying: “They are understandable declarations.”
