Sagna: Arsenal MUST buy to close Chelsea gap

Bacary Sagna says Arsenal need to buy in January.

Defender Sagna conceded Arsenal are struggling to cope in the absence of striker Robin van Persie, who is out for five months with ankle ligament damage.

Sagna said: "Robin van Persie’s absence is weighing heavily on us and we need to find a solution. There was too much of a gap between ourselves and Chelsea.

"They were better in the individual battles and kept the ball and passed it better than we did.

"The game was a mirror image of our 1-0 defeat at Sunderland. We did not really create chances. Chelsea brushed us aside and we are very disappointed.

"But we must not give up, or else we face dropping even further down the table."

I am amazed at the shallowness of some so called gooners. You guys are better off supporting manure, cheesy and the like!

D chelski defeat was devastating.I think Wenger needs a quality striker up front.Eduardo was slow up front and sometimes looks like a lost man with d ball.Asharvin in Eduardo's position could have given me something to smile on.

Even if arsenal buy chamakh we wont win the league because he is moroccan and so will go to the african cup of nations and when he gets back he wuill be sup tied for the champions league. We do need a striker though but if it is chamakh it will mean waiting yet another season of waiting until next year. However if we do sign chamakh and spend some money on a destroyer to play behind fabregas we will have closed the gap.
