Former Sydney FC Championship defender Mark Rudan is getting closer to match condition and his debut for Adelaide United.

Rudan, who had a run in the Adelaide United reserves last week, told tribalfootball.com, “It has been a while since I last played for Vaduz (in Swiss League) and I told Aurelio Vidmar that I really wanted a run in the reserves to get my legs clicking in a competitive game.

“It’s all well training but nothing beats playing for points so it felt really good to have a run with the reserves.

“I turn 34 this Thursday so I hope that my birthday present will be making an appearance for Adelaide United and helping the boys get a much sought after win.

“I watched the team last Friday night and the boys were really gutted not to have got something from the game, especially for the big crowd that was there.

“Still, there is so much talent and self belief at this Club that I think we will soon start getting the results we deserve.”
