AS Roma defender Nicolas Burdisso has been given a two-match ban for his red card against Cagliari on the weekend.

The Argentine international was given his marching orders for a harsh tackle on Daniele Conti in Roma’s 5-1 loss to Cagliari and will be forced out for two matches.

Burdisso will miss Sunday’s clash with Bologna before being unavailable for the trip to Brescia and will be a big loss to the side which has recorded just one point from their opening two league outings.
